the way he looks right now is not good. It could just be the provided pic makes it look like he is in a an awkward position but definitely monitor him. I would say wait a few days and then try to feed him earth worms again. new fish may eat right away or they may take awhile. I wouldn't suspect health problems for at least another 3-4 days.

Test your water and check the parameters, ask the pet shop to check their water and see if there are significant differences, fish may be in shock due to significant differences. Any other fish in this tank?

Tank looks pretty cloudy

Exactly what I was going to say, my it be because its a new tank having a bacteria bloom? I would water change asap and dose with prime or safe till the bb in the tank can catch up.

thanks for the reply but i unfortunately lost the rope fish when i came to check on it this morning its was dead i thought it was getting better because it stopped floating on it head but i took it back to the pet store and they were evey understandable and took it so now im just waiting for a new one to come in

sorry to hear that man, sucks to loose a fish...

When you get your new one, let it be known they're escape artists. I mean crawling up water falls and popping hang on lids off good. Good luck, they are awesome fish.
