Hi all,
First time poster here.

I have about a 200gal 8 sided tank with a thin plastic bottom over marine grade plywood.
My problem is there are a few small leaks.
I have resiliconed the tank, and this stopped the leaks.

I currently have a 55lb Alligator snapping turtle in the tank.
I'm worried he will get under the silicone and cause more leaks.

Is there a product that would seal yet be tuff enough to stand up to his abuse?

I was thinking about that pourable clear stuff they make toilet seats, bar tops and table tops out of, you know the ones where you can see the pretty shells or pennies or what have you.

Any suggestion would be GREATLY appreciated!!
Thank's in advance

Are the side panels of the tank made of glass? That info would be helpful to give you better suggestions.

You could do that but I would take out the sheet of plastic as the resin will not bond to the plastic sheet. It would only bond to the plywood around the wall. There really is not any adhesive that chemically bonds acrylic plastic to any unlike material. Maybe you could add some obstructions like big rocks to keep the turtle from digging into the corners where the silicone is.

Thanks all!

Tyler,
I'm looking into it.

Dee,
Yes, everything is glass but the bottom.

MyGiants,
That sucks Brother!
Wouldn't the completely covered bottom (up to the glass seal, about an inch deep) just kind of sit in place...or would the water make it's way under?

If this would work would I need to silicone the glass resin conection?

Rather than using rocks to block the silicone I am thinking about slats of plexi at a 45 degree angle.

RWB,
Your right he wont hurt a stock tank but the stock tank will hurt my eyes!! lol

T-Town Il. Where abouts is that?
I'm near Chi-Town.

I have a few photos on my phone, but I am very low tech and don't know how to get them to the site.
