I have 3 filters on my tank. 2 eheim 2250s and a tidepool wetdry. Right now I have carbon in all 3 and want to get rid of some. Should I take the carbon pouch from the drawer in the tidepool wetdry or out of my eheims? If I didn't ask for help I was going to run the eheims as just biological and keep the carbon on the tidepool. What would you guys do? No carbon at all? Keep it in all 3?

I run none at all unless I need to remove meds (which is rare)

same here

I only use it to remove something specific. I really only lasts a couple weeks anyway as far as absorbing anything. After that, it can release what it absorbed back into the tank, and becomes no more than extra bio media.

Hey Harley can you have to much carbon/

Howdy,

To remove meds: no. The more carbon you have in your filter, the faster the meds are removed from your water. But for all practical purposes, one pack according to your filter's size and run it for a couple of days. Then remove the carbon.

Carbon is a waste of money IMO,unless your removing meds,ect.....

Nothing like regular water changes...

Save the carbon for removing meds
