ive always had this problem with freshwater tanks. i get nasty algae on my tank cover. how do i prevent this. it gives my tank a yellow tint as it is and looks nasty! right now its only on one side because of the water splash.

I think everyone gets algae on their tops. I'm assuming that you mean the glass between the water and your light. I hate it too but I just clean it about once a week. The Doctor
