I bought a new royal pleco on tuesday, and he is in with a 3" oscar, 4.5" Hujeta barracuda and an exodon. Since I added him, ammonia went up to a little under .25,(maybe .15 or .20). Is it normal because he is a crap machiene and it adds more ammonia to the bioload? I added prime, but is it because of him or what?

How big is the aquarium? How long has it been set up with the other fish?

3 months and I got the royal tuesday.

probably, should be a few days before you biological can catch up. I would do a waterchange immediately and make sure you condition the water before it goes through your filters.

Alright thanks. I was planing on doing a water change in a few minutes. Ill actually do that right now and tell you whats up when Im done. Brb.

Ok I am back. Finished a top for my 75g and found an old filter in my closet!
So on my 75 I have an eheim canister 2215 and a Penguin 350. Did about a 40% water change. I will test the water tomorrow so all the fish settle down and I can get an accurate reading.
