hello ive owned a few silver aros in the past but i wanna learn more. i always see pics of austrailan, asain, african, and south america. and i also see jardini, red, gold, silver and black. i know the the silver aros are from south america. but where are the rest from? and which are most aggressive in order also which can be kept with angels and stingrays in a 500 gal. thanks in advance

now that i look at the original post its a little confusing i mean to ask where are the jardini, red, gold, and black arowanas from and which ones can be kept with rays and angels?

or read the stickies in the arowana forum there is alot of info there. Its a shame asian aros are banned here, I would actually consider getting into aros if they were legal. Silvers and blacks are cool but get over 3ft so if you don't have a pond or a huge tank forget it. Aussies are evil and the african aros look like large minnows. Just IMO of course.

Silvers are from SA. Black/Blue are from Africa. African Aro is from Africa. Asian Arowanas are from Asia(duh lol). Jardini and Lei are from Australia.

When normally mentioned...

Silver/black(sometimes blue) are two species from SA
Jardini/Leisomethingortheother are Australian
gold/red/green etc are asians which you can't have legally here.

Not sure if any would be fine with angels though.

Silvers/blacks are pretty mild as far as monster fish gos, Jardfinis not so much. Never had asians or Africans so I can't say.
