Help with Biowheel filter

Hello all,
I have an Emporer 400 HOB and a smaller marineland HOB on my 55g tank. The 400 is one of those dual biowheel setups. It uses a spraybar to turn the biowheels. My problem is that the filter has 6 holes on each side of the spraybar, but only one or two will be putting out water at any time. What do I need to do to fix this?

i use a toothpick to clean each hole

Did you buy this new, they come with the brushes to clean this filter. You need to do a good cleaning on these about every other month to keep up top performance.

Ok that sounds easy enough. I didn't buy them new, got the tank fully setup for a grand total of $60.

Good deal. See if ya can find a pipe cleaner type brush about 1/2" diameter to clean the inside of the spraybars.

yep, just need a small brush you see for sale in petco petsmart whatever...just needs go in a few times every now n then to pull that stuff that somehow gets stuck in there.Also like suggested they do need a pretty good leaning themselves every now and then
