My cat has decided to start jumping behind my tanks and chew my cords... I'm very close to getting rid of him... This will be my last attempt at solving this lol my tanks are around a foot or less away from the walls on stands I'm trying to think of something to run down the side to block the gap from tanks and walls. I have tried rolled carpet cardboard about everything I can find that will fit he still finds a way back there. I thought about chicken wire but I'm about positive he'd get thru that and it would look unsightly the only thing I can think of is some type of wood that covers the gap and goes up at least to the top of the tank and paint it black so it doesn't look so bad but I'm not sure how I would secure it I don't want to nail it into the stands and the walls are cement block. I'm sure some of you have ran into this issue and have better ideas than me thanks in advance

Get a spray that cats don't like, for that area, like the stuff that keeps them fron scratching on furniture.Keep spray from getting into tank,of course.

Light diffuser is what I would try

Hmm.. I know this kinda worked for my parent's couch. We took double stick tape, and sprinkled it with cayenne and chili powder. Then we put that on the couch arms where the cat liked to shred them. Something about it being smelly, kind of like the anti-cat spray.

Also, squirt bottle. He won't like that BUAHAHAH.

Squirt bottles of water are a toy to him lol he loves water you spray him and he will just start licking it off with his paws lol. I'm gonna go to homedepot this weekend look around see what I can find to completely block off the area that's my only hope this cat is insane

I was going to suggest cat spray as well. If that doesn't work.... electric fence? Sounds like you've got a determined cat who likes it's play spot.

It might be easier to get some spiral cord protector wrap to cover the cords themselves.

Even sliding some vinyl hose or similar hose over the wires should work. If the hose isn't large enough to slide over the plug end, just cut a slit along the hose length so it can fit over the cords.
