Help with broken tail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yes i would leave it as is, only because my ray had this problem in the store when i purchased it, it did not scare me away because the owner of the store was taking good care of her before i purchased her. I left the tail alone and it had cured over time let me know what you decide. Good Luck

Like stated ^^^ It should die off healing itself while in the process or possibly just become a deformed tail. My money is on the former.

i have NEVER try this or even know if i should recommend it but i know someone who super glued a tigrinus cats nose that broke and the nose fused back and healed up fine

it maybe different with a ray tail as its bone

crazy idea and i would just live with the broken tail

when i got my female Leo the paddle was split down the middle i done nothing and the bottom part soon fell off

Looks to have healed already to me,my guess is it will permanently be that way until it wears away on the substrate due to the angle of the bend.
So Stingrays have bones do they T1???very interesting,i always thought these fish were cartilaginous(Elasmobranchii) fishes which also includes Sharks....perhaps you should elaborate on this as i'm intrigued and always ready to learn new stuff from anyone willing to offer it!.....even you!!!

bone cartilage what ever you want to call it its not the same as a flesh injury and chances are it wont grow back once broken

i think but not !00% sure but think it was alan who told jake to super glue the tigs nose i :ROFL:at it but i think jake done it and it worked but had a slight bump

you posting in the day you must be in that little room out back were you showed me pics of the £2.5k marbles :grinno:

LOL Rich......my day off mate!!...shop closed Wednesdays.
For the record,Alan consulted me about the injury to the Tig,he then passed the info about the Super glue onto Jake...so i suppose thats another feather in my cap if it worked albeit not perfectly.
