Help with choice of tankmate for my Xback.

I just lost my Xbacks tankmate which is a 16 inch Endli.
Not thinking what would be the best replacement?
my choices are
1. Endli again
2. 14 - 16 inch Lapradei
3. 4-5 Pcs Clown loaches

Excluded Datnoid and Stingray as it will be harder to maintain parameters with stingray and
datnoid can fight with aro.

my tank is 5x2x2 with eheim 2250 as filter
Xback is about 23 inches.
any votes?

Get some jumbo size clown loaches. They do a good job cleaning

I refuse to vote because all 3 are awesome ideas! I have 2 lapredei, delhezi, ornate and 7 clown loaches with my arowana.

Of those choices I'd pick a lap. But bichirs don't really clean up so well, so that's the advantage of the loaches.

23" xb? in a 5x2x2 150g tank? you dont need get it tank mates
you need to get a bigger tank for it first then you can consider
additional mates...

I think Aros need tanks wider than 2ft , if they are looked after properly they should grow over 2ft . Mine is in a 28" wide tank but I wish it was 3ft wide. If the fish is 23" it only has one inch to turn around which restricts it's movement. They can move more gracefully in a bigger tank. Stingrays are good so long as you have good filters. I think flagtails look nice with Aros.
