I have a 29 gallon with 6 cichlids about 3 inches each and a foot long peacock eel. I know the tank is not big enough, so i need to decide:
A)
Get a new tank and a new filter and anything else to start a whole new tank
B)
Switch the 29 gallon to saltwater and put the cichlids and eel in the 125 sw i have and switch that to freshwater. I would put my sw gish and corals in the 29.

I realize that option B would be a bit more cost effective but option A would be a bit easier...
Also I would have to convince my parents for both options so i need help with that too.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

What kind of cichlids are they?

Not to sound rude but buying a new tank or maybe even re-homing the fish might be a good idea?

u need to just get a new tank kit for the cichlids and eel. nothing less than a 75g minimum though. what fish and corals are in the sw? would be severely downgrading the sw fish and corals? u could do the switch but if its to the downfall of the fish and corals no. yes a 125g would be ideal but not if it means the sw fish (who we dont know what they are or how big) are going to be downgraded. youde bee surprised the large tanks u can find for cheap lately. if u have the space just get a larger tank for the cichlids or rehome them and the eel and do something else completely new with the 29.
