About to build a complete setup for my 150 glass.
This will be my first DIY overflow.
My main concern is the flow rate of my drain pipe.
I plan to run a medium sized pump, maybe as strong as a rio 3100.
My question is will one 1" overflow drain fast enough for the pump?
Im guessing it wont, based on past tanks ive done.
Should i run two overflows, use wider PVC then 1", or what would work out best so i dont have to worry about the pump being faster then the drain.
Also where is the best place to put the air check valve? ive seen different styles of how they have been used/placed. And does it need any air line attached or a pump?
