Help with dying fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am glad they made it. Congrats for getting them through! True dedication, and kudos for posting it here and crowdsourcing treatment options.
Now, with all of that behind us, allow me to say the obvious: it is never good to "rescue" fish from a fish store. Unless they are free and/or it's your dream species and there's no other way to get it. It's always hit or miss, but you lucked out and this is worth celebrating!

Yes, I do try to make sure to buy healthy fish, but most of the time I don’t even need to worry because predatory fins is only 1 hr from my house and I have never even seen a sick fish in that shop, but these guys are definitely a dream fish for me, and they were only $15 so I couldn’t help myself.

Funny, my only order from predatory fins came in with sick fish, I even lost one.

Strange, I have never received a sick fish, I did lose a peacock bass once and the customer service was great, I reached out and they were super helpful and said I can go whenever to pick one up ( I haven’t made my way sown there in a few months)

I'm really glad they bounced back. It may be prudent to run a round of Levamisole (Expel P), or Flubendazole, as those meds cover different parasites than the General Cure that you already administered.

Ok, one week in, and the larger one is growing like crazy! The smaller one looks tiny compared to it, but I am hesitant to treat it again since it is doing so well. He doesn’t have any symptoms of remaining parasites and is eating equally as well as his larger buddy, he’s just smaller I guess. My only concern is that he isn’t as filled out as the larger one. I’ll put some pictures down below in a sec. My question to you all is do you think I should get Levamisole/flubendazole, or am I just paranoid.

Forgot to mention that a few weeks ago I threw in a few feeders, about 6 of them. The smaller taropn was not large enough to eat them, but the larger one could just fit them in his mouth, and he cleared them up real quick. Perhaps this is what contributed to the rapid growth and recovery?
