In My Own World
Hey just got 2 cichlids at one of my pet stores label as just as "Dwarf Chiclids". I asked what kind they where and The guy who works there didnt know the name and told me he thought they where called laticus or something like that. From that i searched around the internet and came up with Laetacara genus of fish but mine are shaped like the laetacara fish but the colors are diffrent. I just pulled some pictures up and I think they look more like what are called rainbow chiclids. If any one can tell me what kind they are it would be much appreciated. Sorry for the crappy picture it was the best i could do

Cryptoheros nanoluteus looks like.

Thats a nice fish... how big do they get?

if you have a pair youre in for a treat their coloring when they are breeding is beautiful also as stated above^ they are intolerant to poor water conditions so keep up on the water changes

that's an awesome pickup. nanoluteus are beautiful little cichlids :) they should get to around 4" or so.

Thanks every one for letting me know what they are. About a hour ago I had to remove my fire mouth from the tank because him( or it coulda been a her i didnt know the sex) and the bigger Nano had been fighting since i put them in the tank yesterday. The firemouth also chased around the smaller nano on site NONSTOP. I wanted to give it a few days to see if it worked it self out but the way the bigger one and the firemouth havin been fighting ( the fire mouth had ripped fins and every thing) i knew one of them would come up dead if i didnt seperate them. I have other fish in my tank but none of them reacted the way the firemouth did yesterday when I put the fish in and I was suprised by this because its usally not really agressive at all to my other cichlids. I think it was basicly tryin to bully the newer fish.

these are pretty easy to sex. male on top and female on bottom. female will have the black blotch in the dorsal
