Looks like a mayan cichlid (false red terror) or something else

Thanks for the reply, but this is definitely not a blue acara. It's more elongated and the spangling on the gill plate arent consistant with an acara...Anyone else? The tank was labeled paratheraps fenestratus which I really dont think this is.

looks a bit like a geophagus, or something similar to that; from the shape of the fins and its long mouth. def not a blue acara.

I think you may be right with the umbee guess...I was also thinking maybe an istlanum?

may need better pics. Looks like an umbie, but it looks too sharp to be one. Face and pearls looks like an earth eater too.
