Hello,
I just came home after spending 4 days in England and I´ve just noticed that my Gourami has black spots on his fins and tail. The Gourami is the leader of the aquarium and usually bullies the other fish. Lately he has been stressing out a lot and jumping a lot.

Aquarium: 200cm x 60cm x 60cm 720 Liters
Filtration: 1x Fluval FX5 and 1x Fluval FX6

Tank Mates:

Silver Arowana
Spotted Gar x2
Clown Loaches x9
Polypterus Senegalus
Polypterus Ornatipinnis
Polypterus Lapradei
L333
Platydora Costatus x4
Agamyxis Pectinifrons
Datnoid IT

Can someone tell me what does my Gourami has or is it just stress?

this happened to my red tail giant gourami back in 07/2012. if you search for freshwater black spot disease you will find more information on what i believe my fish had and yours as well. Basically its a parasite that has a snail to fish to bird life cycle and wont be able to fulfill that cycle within your aquarium. The spots went away within a month or two.

It showed up for me shortly after i introduced two new fish. it is not life threatening and will disappear on its own.

did you recently add any fish to your tank?
