Hi everyone, well my jardini has gotten gill curl for a while now, it has pretty much been only on the soft part of the gill and is nearly all gone and next to flat but what I've noticed is that the soft part of the gill cover is getting shorter compared to the other gill. Can anyone identify the problem?

Can you post a picture or two?

What size is he and what size tank do you have him in?

Things you can do immediately, raise temp of tank to 85-86 degrees, add aquarium salt, and maximize oxygen levels by adding as much surface aggitation to your tank that you possibly can!

I'll post a pic or 2 after the water change. Thanks I'll try everything here.

Gill curl is usually from a water quality issue. Do a fairly decent water change. What are the water parameters? What size tank do you have it in?

So the Jardini is 35-40cm and is in a 6' by 2' by 2' with an Eheim Professional 3 1200XL with built in heater and a sponge filter going. The water is perfect for everything and the ph is 7.7. Every week I do a 50% water change and did one just half an hour ago. I'm getting a new powerhead tomorrow as mine just broke and maybe a few sponge filters after reading that sponge filter thread!

Sorry everyone no photo's its not uploading any help with that as well?
