I currently have a 6" male Green Terror(8" to the tip of the tail) that I have housed in a 30 gal by its self that eats pretty much anything I put in the tank such as Cichlid Staple, Hikari Food Sticks, Spectrum 3mm Cichlasoma Formula and feed frozen bloodworms once a week as a treat. But for the past couple of days, it hasn't been eating anything and is swimming around with its mouth opening and closing. It's still has vibrant colors and still rushes the glass when I put my face in front of it but for some reason won't eat. I've been told that GT's develop bloat at this size due to foods that are high in protein and eventually die. Can you guys help me with this one? I really don't want my GT to die because its one of my favorite fish that I have. So if anybody could help or give an opinion or solution, I'd greatly appreciate it.

He needs a bigger tank for starters, 55 gallon minimum. Also based on your description sounds like hes gasping for air, what kinda filtration do you have on the tank? Whats the water paramters? Is his stomach really bloated looking?

give him some peas bro ... then maybe a bigger tank

turn up temperature and add some

did you recently do a water change? I had a similar issue with my oscars after a water change. It seems that I filled the tank with too much water. I removed enough water for the filters to break the surface of the water and my fish were better after that.

I'm currently running an Aquaclear 50 and a undergravel filter with a stellar air pump rated for 40 gallons. ph is at 7.0 and temp is at 78 degrees

I do my water changes on my tanks every Sunday and my GT did start acting this way this week but the bubbles from my air pump already breaks the surface... hmmm?
