help with green water

my brother has green water an needs help. what should he do

remove phosphates...try a product called phos-x. you put it in your filter. found at a store long time ago. only had to use it once and it cleared it up in less than 48 hours.

Adding a UV sterilizer will prevent the green water.

whats a uv sterilizer cost? dosnt have to be big its a 40 gallon hex.

It works fine as well, I had a similar one on a 30G tank and it worked fine.
