shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
i tested my water today and for some reason the water in the gulper tank has a pH level of 7.2. the water is very soft though, and i read gulpers need soft acidic water between 5.6 and 6.6 pH. Will this hurt them? What would be the best way to make the water more acidic? Is there anything I can put in my filter? I have two AC 50's on the tank

You could add peat to the filter. But I think the Gulper should be fine.

would it be better for them longterm if the water was more acidic? if i put some peat in a bag in the filter, how long will it last and about how much would i need for a 55 gal to lower the pH .6? I feel a little better because the more dominant one ate but i worry a lot and dont want to see anythign bad happen to these guys. theyve grown on me alraedy
