My tank needs a second filter and i saw a youtube video of a cheap effective homemade filter. I attempted to make it but don't know if it is working. I think currently it is more of an air stone than a filter. I don't know how to make sure it sucks in water from the holes in the cap.
My filter is almost identical to the one in the video. My bottle is bigger with a lot of empty space at the top. I did not put a sponge over the cap. Also my bottle has a couple of small holes that I tried to put in suction cups but since they didn't stick or do anything i took them out, leaving two small holes on the bottle. Currently it has 500ml of seacham matrix which i will be replacing with two packs of aquaclear biomax 110.
