Help with I.D.?

I got this guy from my LFS today. They didn't know what he was, although they thought he looked like an H. pearsi. what do you think? Full H. pearsi or maybe a hybrid? He's about 6 inches long.

its a Pearsi! ive been looking for one this size forever!!!

im so jealous! lol.. nice fish btw.

i ended up settling for a chocolate cichlid
 
Is this a male or female? I'm not sure how to sex pearsi... the lfs I got it from gets a few in every now and then of good size, so I might try to pick up another one if they get some in.
 
my guess is male with that impressive finneage.. though others might help with the sex.. can you vent it?
