Hey! A few days ago I noticed my two clowns glancing. the tank is still cycling, and Ammonia is at 0.1-0.2 right now. Today, both their heads are covered with white spots, and I am having trouble IDing which type of Ich they have contracted.

What treatments can I use other than copper and hyposalinity?

I have LR, and am I wrong in thinking that both of these will kill it? I also have hermits and snails. I am thinking if my clowns die then I'll just let my inverts finish the cycle.

I absolutely refuse to use copper because I want a mantis shrimp.

If no fish are present, will the parasites starve and be eradicated?

Is it even possible to set up a small 5 gallon critter keeper and house the clowns in it until the ich burrows back out of them and then removing the fish back into my 10gal?

Thanks.

if the ammmonia is down to .2-.1 the nitrite is probably at like 6.0pmm

for the fish's sake i'd simply return them

running a tank fallow (no fish) for 3 or more weeks will kill any crypt in the tank

Alright.

In Hong Kong there is no such thing as returning a fish (apart from the really expensive ones)

Trying to return anything under 20 bucks will result in the store person talking to you as if you were trying to return a feeder guppy :|

Fallow is alright because I want a mantis.

I think the disease came in with my LR, because Ive had the clowns for at least 2 weeks and I threw out (as always) any water that was used with them for acclimatizing.
