Hi guys!

Spotted my Orinoco having white spots and I'm pretty sure its Ich but would like some second opinions in the matter. 2014-07-14 11.17.38.jpg2014-07-14 11.17.33.jpg

If it's a case of Ich then I'll up the temp to 30-31C with aquarium salt and treat the water for a week atleast. I've got a young motoro which I'm concerned about when it comes to treatment of Ich.

My parameters atm
  • Temp: 26C
  • Ph: 7
  • Nitrites: 0
  • Nitrates:0
  • NH3: 0.008

Salt and raise the temp method work best with cichla. Not sure if the salt will effect the ray though? I go up to 88f on the temp.

I did this recently - 88° F, added salt. Week later all signs of ich gone. Although I had 2 baby p. Bass that didn't make it

Thnx for the replies guys!

Temp is now 29c and added salt. Everyone seems to enjoy the warmer temperature or maybe it's the salt because their appetite is crazy :) So a good sign for starters.

Its the temp causing the hunger.

get the temp to 88 hold for 2 weeks after you not seem them anymore, it boosts the life cycle up so mutch that they burn themselves out and die off.

My bigger question is 0 nitrate? tank should never have 0 nitrate, whats ammonia? water does look a little cloudy but may be the camera.

warmer water increases there metabolism. just like it is doing to the ick, cept will not hurt the fish.
