The LFS had this guy by himself and the owner told me it would kill anything in my tank. This guy has been just fine. So what is it?!

Looks kinda like a tropheops species, any side pics?

Definitely not a tropheops like I first thought, it looks like a hybrid. Possibly a yellow lab crossed with a cynotilapia species

It has lost a little color. But the top fin had brilliant blue coloration.

Agreed. The fin coloration, stripes and pearl on the scale are very similar to a lot of the cynotalapia ive seen
