I bought this catfish at my LFS , he didn't know what kind he is ...Iwas wondering if you guys could help. hes doubled in size since i got him a bout a month ago..he's a weird color hard to explain but it looks almost like apinkish pearl sheen on him.. a round tail ,and 3 sets of whiskers , 3 gray strips on him starting between his eyes, and ending behind his fins.. http://s996.photobucket.com/albums/af88/redheadedmommy8874/

LOL never heard of a madtom before,so i couldn't tell yea. thanx you guys!
 
Actually it looks like a slender madtom.

Tadpole madtoms don't have the whitish spot in front and behind the dorsal fin.

looks like a tadpole madtom to me. my lfs got some in with some assorted native species.

You either misidentified those madtoms, or you're not noticing the differences between this one and those. Read my above comment.

I think slender madtoms must be fairly common with shipped fish, because I got mine from my LFS.
