I was wondering if someone could help me with an ID of a possible invert or clam like animal that is SW. The animal would bury itself in the sand and when an unsuspecting fish would swim above, it would shoot out a barb like projectile attached to a string like tentacile. The animal would then "reel in" the catch. The article was stating how this animal as unsuitable for the aquarium due to possible injury to the keeper. Any ideas??

Thanks

Cone snail of some type, there are about 500 species. They can be active or ambush hunters and have venoms that range in effect (in humans) from a mild bee sting, to a very quick death, at least 5 species are lethal to humans.
