Help with lighting.

Ok so I'm getting some new lights for my aquarium and my main question is are the coralife 10000k HO brighter the the regular 10000k bulbs the regular ones are 28 watts a piece and the other's are 50 something watts a piece but there both 10000k so are they the same? Or is one brighter then the other

The kelvin rating is for the color temperature of the bulb and does not have to do with the brightness. I'd buy both as the ones more energy efficient

those are two different lamps for two different ballasts. you need the one you have the ballast for.
if you're buying the whole unit the 54 watts will be brighter.

So even tho there both 10000k bulbs the 54 watt will be brighter then the 28 watt bulb?? Is that what you're saying?

Yes. Wattage equals brightness in this equation. 10000K is a blue/purple color temp, Daylight is right around 5000K or while light, but both bulbs can be rated 28W or 54W- the 54W will be brighter.

But also pins and ballasts vary-if you can, id say bring the fixture to a LFS or HomeDepot/Lowes and see what the consensus is!

Or post pics of your ballasts specs (usually on the ballasts themselves under the covers) and we will get you pointed in the right direction!
