My jack has developed a bad looking tail it is clamped, ripped and the center looks whitish/ raw. Gills are slightly red and he hasn't eaten well since being transfered from a 42 hex to a 75 with just him and a female. I don't have another tank to use so I will have to dose the entire tank ~80 gallons 75g tank and 29g sump. Front fins are also slightly ragged looking. I previously tried melafix/ pimafix but those didn't work so I think I need something stronger. what would be the best way to dose this tank? I really don't want to lose either fish. I've been doing 50-75% waterchanges ever other day and now have my drip system setup again. Will be running to the store here soon.

He ate last night for the first time in 2 weeks that I saw ate a worm, and ate another today. Water is tinited but not real cloudy from the Maracyn/ Maracyn 2 combo. Becoming more active also.

I have used Maracyn 2 for my 11 in Jack Dempsey male when he got popeye in one of his eyes and it worked really well. So I would suggest using maracyn 2 just by itself for your possible tailrot.

Oh I have forgot to suggest that maybe in the future, to get a 10 gallon hospital tank. It is easier to treat and you wouldn't have to use so much medication. It has worked for every problem that I have had with my cichlids. Good Luck!

I would have gotten another tank but the wife doesn't want me having more than 1 tank :( or I would have several!
