Hey guys I have a 125 gallon with two eheim 2217 classics, one HOB whisper 60 and a sumbmersable fluval 4. I currently have one eheim set up with a layer of course scrubbing pads, then scrubbies, then a layer of filter floss then a additional layer of course scrubbing pads. I also have a bit of crushed coral on top the filter floss. The other cannister just has floss and some old aquarium gravel... I know the gravel is not the best option but I had alot laying around and I will not lie I got cheap and lazy for a while.
Anyway I will be changing out the eheim with the floss and rockes this week and was wondering what you guys think would be a good option.
My ultimate goal is to have very polished water and I think I may need some more Bio media??
I do run a bit of purigen in the HOB by the way and there is carbon in the submersable.

get some bio max in there - from what ive read there are different manufacturers who claim to make the biomax with the greatest surface area for bacteria to thrive on? think there is a sticky or thread somewhere???

Seachems matrix sounds very good. They claim to have better surface area than substrate pro and also have some very interesting articles on the seachem website showing studys done on the matrix product. So would something like a course pad pre filter be needed? Or would it be best to just fill the whole cannister with something like matrix?
