Im not a DIY person but I want either a Sav. or ackies. What would the measurements for the cage be? Also What would I need to buy? Like type of plywood, sealant and any other tips. Thanks for any help

plywood is not really a great material for monitors unless you really seal it well.

lets look at cage sizes first..

for a fully grown sav, your looking at a minimum of 8'l x 4'w x 4'h

for one ackie, your looking at a minimum of 4'l x 2'w x3'h, for two you'd want to go at least 6' long.

now there's substrate, you'll need a good mix of unfertilized potting soil and sand at at least 1'-2' deep for an ackie, deeper for a sav.

i don't know much about sealant, but it will definitely need good sealing to keep the cage safe from damage due to high humidity.

As far as caging, you should probably start with a smaller cage and then work your way up. Either one would be fine in a 4x2x2 for a while, but both would need upgraded, especially if you have more than 1 of either species. Sav's will need much bigger down the line, while an ackie (or group) will need a slightly larger. A 6x2x3 would work well for a group of ackies. Like ^^^ said, you're looking at a 8x4x4 for a full grown sav. And each will need at least 12-18" of clean soil as substrate. Although you can probably get away with less (6-12") when they're younger, as long as you provide good hides for them.
