I have a 3' RTC/TSN hybrid. He is in a 300 gal pond by himself. It has a 6'x8' foot print approx... His wiskers are showing of signs of deterioration and it looks like a thumb-size wound on his side... I have recently done 2 55% water changes an added a little melafix... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

wait its 300 gallons and the foot print is 6x8? How deep is it. My 6x3 is 2 1/2 feet deep and is 330 gallons.

It could be a bacteria infection. Id keep up the water changes and add some Aquarium Salt. Whats your temp at?

The temp is low. About 75F right now. I had the covers off to clean.. I have put them back on and will add some more salt... The foot print is big.. I'm not sure of the gallons but it's 8'x6' and about 2' tall maybe a little less. I will do parameter checks tonight

Id try raising the temp to around 80. Was it damaged by another fish or did it slam into something in the tank that would have left a wound?

maybe it hit the white PVC return/supply line in the pond when it got scared or something maybe put a T or something on the end could be sharp from the cut or even from the factory I have cut my hand cleaning off the ends at work just a thought.
