Okay, in my 29 I have my baby snowflake moray. I found some small eggs on the beach and put them in my refugium to see what they hatch into. they hatched earlier today...i dont know what they are, but the parents were some small beach fish that my friend said resembled minnows (3-4 inches long max as adults). What should I feed them? they have started hatching...also, I put my pom pom xenia on a glass vase (properly boiled and cleaned to prevent chemical problems) standing upright in my tank so that the hermit crabs from the beach cannot reach them. is this a bad idea? also, what should i feed my baby fishes? I dont know what they are but i have some copeopods in my tank would those suffice? how about sea monkies? I have heard to try them or live yeast? which one is better..any help is wanted :nilly:

well you can feed brine or mysis shrimp. Most fish will eat them. There are also baby bits you can buy for new fry like yours. I think Petsmart sells it.

Depending on what they are exactly they more then likely wont be fry yet. Most SW fish babies start out os larvae and will quickly get eaten by whatever else is in your tank. Unless you can see that they are little fish i wouldnt even bother worrying about it.
If they are small fish already then just feed them the smallest food you can find.

well they resemble tiny fish...currenlty, they are in a mesh fish breeding net (like the kind you buy at walmart) hanging inside the tank. I dont see any way that the eel can reach them and my crabs and things cannot get in it. They have big bellies im assuming it is the yolk sac still attached, im not sure but that is what i am assuming. they appear to be doing okay, i still have 10-15 that still havent hatched yet.

my mom reccomended maybe moving them into like a one gallon container with just the airstone or airbar in there with them. is that a bad idea or is the breeder net better?

Ide leave them there. I still have trouble understanding what they are though. Get a pic of them. Most small fish eat whatever they can thats tiny. Ide just try crushed up flakes to feed them unless you can get live baby brine shrimp or something similar.
