Hi all, new member here, and while I dont really have exotic fish these forums have been very helpful to me in the past. So, I got this tank about 3 years ago and have seen fish come and go, but have just recently tried to get serious about it. The problem is, I have no taste for decorating. I dont know if I should make a little forest with my plants and put all the decorations to the side or what. I know I need more fish cause they are all skiddish, but the local wallyworld carries overpriced garbage and we have no LFS within 2.5 hours. I would love to see the silver dollars in a group of 5 or so but I can't even get them here. So please watch the video and tell me what you think about redecorating.

it looks like they are over crowded by things. but silver dollars love plants sense the are herbivores. But they will destroy your plants. Also be carefull with sharp decorations beacause silver dollars get spooked out very easily. I'd keep a decent amount of live plants in there, with some hiding spots for them. and btw if you did ever want to get 5 silver dollars it would be over stocking in a 55g tank.

I would put the plants more at the back. Put the pot in the middle and have smaller plants surrounding it. The tall plants should go at the back and more at the corners. Just my opinion.

When decorating, odd numbers and off center are easiest to pull off. Symmetry is very difficult, especially in nature.

you'll need a bigger tank if you want that many silver dollars
