Help with my datnoid set up

Hi

i have just made the decision to go to a datnoid set up so everthing is being pulled out of my tank decor wise the remainders in my 6 by 2 by 2.5 high will be my 22" silver arowana my 10" indo datnoid and i will be adding 2x 8" motoro rays what do i need in terms of decor im looking to add more dats but how many can i get in a group and how do i make them feel comfortable so they are out up front and nice and bright in colour? im a complete nood on dats so please tell me everything you know?

Indos are a strange fish. Not always easy to keep them looking good with gold and black bars. To keep them nice and bright as u say, I recommend using search function and typing "stable unstable". Don't take this the wrong way, but when u see the number of threads u will understand. There's no guaranteed
Way to make them Look "nice and bright"
I recommend No decor at all, and this will give the rays room to swim at the bottom. A slither of sand for the rays and aesthetics...

I would add max of 3, and make sure they are not all the same size, variable
Size in group work really well. All the same size will be fighting constantly.

Thanks Mate, never knew you was on here but hey if i wanted to find you i know the datnoid forum is the best 1 to find you on aha, i may have 2 NGT soon il let you know if they come through only at the 5 - 6" mark though
 
to tell the truth if you are adding 2 x 8 inch motoro then your best not to add any decor as you will need as much floor space as possible
 
Max floor space for the rays is more important with your set up IMO.

And u will like your tigers more if they are not hiding all the time.
 
Good point ade, just fed them and they were all about and feeding the rays seemed to appreciate the floor space and when they get bigger they will need it aswel
