Help with my flowerhorn

What is wrong with my Flowerhorn??? I rescued him about 3 weeks ago. He Nuchal Hump was completely gone. He had sunken belly. Wouldn’t eat. I’ve tried everything I can think of and he is active now, he eats well, he moves around well… but what is this?? I don’t want him to go back down hill. Temp is 84. Water parameters perfect.

How is he doing? To me it looks like the final parts of his colon are hanging out, something that can happen to all fishes and can have various causes like parasites or infections that damaged it.

What you see you can't really treat, but if you can get rid of the cause it will usuall heal and slowly disappear again if he isn't to damaged. That he is still eating is a good sign.

I would recommend to crank the temperature to 31°C and add some tanins as a general measure against parasites and to boost the fishes immune system.
