Long story short, no money for spare tank, no more spare tank, evil comp. and my poor JD. I seprate the problem fish into a dif. tank and my JD is having some issues my comp went after its under mouth area and its like missing scales and looks like skin and now his bottom lip looks more white ish (not white fuzz, just color changed) and its turning red like if it were bleeding..??? is this just bad injury that will heal or is this and infection?? any suggestions as to what I can do I've been treating with mela/prima b/c I also have to treat another fish in that tank and I dont have anymore tanks at my disposal nor can I even fork out $5 for another one.. I am broke! Helpppppppp plesaseeeee I <3 my JD!

Unless it gets fuzzy or ulcerous it sounds like you are doing what you can, 1 tbsp salt /5 gallons wouldn't hurt but it sounds like some tearing and bruising and should heal with the care you are giving.
Lip lock is common in Cichlids and you JD is living up to his name, my one has been beaten up and beats up my jag and Orange pike up so many times I loose count one day he is immaculate the next day torn fins and scales missing. The think is as long as your water quality is fine and as Guppy suggests a small bit of salt you will be amassed had how quickly these tough cichlids repair them self. Just look out for strange behaviour if he is still feeding and not sitting cowering in a corner, then he should be ok.
you're pretty craft ash why not make a divider for them ? The only thing you can do besides what you are doing now is add more o2 for him if possible.
buy a rubbermaid bin to house him in untill you can afford something new or go to the local hardware store buy a $3 light diffuser grid cut to size and wahlah instant tank divider
