hey.... I'm brand new to MFK so bare with me..... I just obtained my first monster today. I got a female Jag about 13 or 14 inches long. She was a rehab fish from 3 years ago, who got beat up bad by a FlowerHorn. So.... for the past 3 years she's been the only one in her tank... a 45 gallon. She now moved to my 150 gallon and met my 6 inch red devil. It's her and him now, and she's showing that she wants to be Queen of the tank. Fortunately for the Red Devil... he's a bit of a bad ass and quite faster than she is. Should I worry about the Devil, or let him go. He has plenty of rockwork to weave in and out of where she can't get into.
Second question.... What would make a suitable tankmate for the large Jag? I was told to try a peacock bass about 8 inches, or a largemouth... but correct me if I'm wrong.... they're really aggressive! I have an option to take on a 10" parrot or a 14" irridescent shark? Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:screwy:

i have noticed that agressive fish, become more docile when in a community.

i had a 5 inch JD, that attacked another JD and plecos in a125 gallon. I gave him to my bro, he is no in a cichilid community tank, he doesnt chase any fishes anymore

i love jaguars probably my favorite cichlid!! u should post some pics of it in ur 150!

P bass might work... however they get very large and will need more then 150 gallon eventually. im not saying no!! pbass would make a nice addition to ur collection, just be aware u might need to upgrade later on down the road.

ok... so I walked into an aquarium shop today and in a 90 gallon "show tank" They had a jaguar... the size of mine with 2 FlowerHorns, a Bichir about 12 inches long, and a knife fish about 18" long. I'm tellin you.... they all seemed to do just fine with each other. I'm nervous about the flowerhorns... I've never had luck with them... but it got me thinking about a bichir and a knifefish down the line... versus the LM Bass. Any suggestions?
