Got a 5 inch Farlowella today, he was kept in a tank which heater had fried leaving the water at about 70 and was not doing well. I put him in my 29 and he hasnt moved much, when he first drifted to the bottom of the tank my 4 inch senegal came up and tried eating him, right after i saw this happening i took the senegal into a different tank

my question is, did this happen because the Farlowella was just stressed? will this happen again if i put my senegal back in the tank??

thank you all in advance

Probably stress, or an unhealthy fish. I have a royal farlawella is in with and EBJD and some african leaf fish..neither of which bother it a bit. Mine is active and can pretty much hold its own. They tank temp for my fish is about 78 though.
try treating for parasites and adding some salt to make it feel better. Hopefully it perks up, I love my farlawella

I really hope its due to stress, and if yours can hold its own with an EBJD then i think mine will be fine with a sen and my green terror which i was worried about.

Just let it get used to its surroundings, faros dont tend to move a lot and specially if they are in a new tank they dont know.

give it some time and good diet and it will kick right back good.

HTH

Best Regards
Juan

My Farlowellas spent 5 days in a tank with no heat that got down to about 68f. They act very lethargic when they're cold, most fish do.
