Help with my new silver gar

Hi, so I have done some research and purchased this silver gar from my lfs. I know it is not a true gar and it is a difficult species but was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to keep one. I am hoping to eventually put him in my tropical community tank.

Here is his tank and him, he is very small probably 2 or 3 inches. In 10 gallon with heater and bubbler

Quarenteen tank btw . Not permanent home, will be moved to a 38 then to an 80 gal

I used to keep mine in groups of 4 and more. Had six at one time. Keep the water clean as any normal fish Don’t feed live food. Provide some floating plants and lids as they can jump out.
