This is my first GTP so I may just be over-reacting but in the three days that we have had him he has gone from screaming yellow in color to some patches on his body getting considerably darker. He has already eaten for us and used the bathroom. His poo looks normal. The temps on the warm side are about 82 degrees and about 76 on the cool side. We have been misting him once a day.

Are we doing something wrong? Or is he just getting ready to shed or something?

Please post some pix of the chondro, please.

Give me the parametres also in relation to relative humidity.

Just from your description I see no reasons to worry, but would like to see a pix

I'm not fully convinced that my humidity gauge isn't broken and it won't be for another like 2 weeks for me to get a new one. It keeps reading about 39% though. As for pics, I have to wait for my hubby to get them off of his Iphone. I don't know how to work the thing otherwise I would do it myself.

what is the age of the chondro?

Chondros are born yellow, red or maroon and change over to green ( with some other colours in the mix, but let us not dwelve on that, for now ).

Some "locality types " change color ( it is called ontogenetic colour change ) very quickly ( some it seems even overnight ), some others take considerably more time

Chondros do not get dark from stress ( although I would like to see pix )

Do you know its locality?

Finally, 39º is way to dry for a chondro. How long is it taking for the enclosure to dry to 39º after you give it the daily mist?

Would like to see the enclosure also, please.

Can't get any pictures up today, sorry. As said my humidity gauge is messed up and will not read over 42% I can dip it in a glass of water and it will still tell me only 42% so I have to get a new one. It's gonna be about 2 weeks before I can get a new one. It's a Biak. I am not 100% on his age. All the breeder told me was he was a Biak and was eating f/t fuzzies. The enclosure is just a rubbermaid tub with 3 branches, a little fake plant thing that he can hide behind if he wants, and a water dish in it. Nothing fancy until he gets bigger. The breeder also had some that were from a separate clutch, but same parents that were starting to turn green. I went with the younger one because I wanted to watch it go from yellow to green.
