Hey everyone just need a little help with my new filtration. I currently have a aqua clear 110 running on top of my 90g tank. I want to change to a canister filter. Im looking at the Eheim Pro 3 2075 or a Eheim 2073. Figured i mine as well go for the Eheim 2075 incase i want to get a bigger tank how much more effective would the 2075 be then the 2073 on my 90. What everyones opinion on this?

Thanks
Don

im running 2 ehiem 2080's on my 125. it is way overfiltered but i like it that way. water always clear and i never get ammo spikes. i like the idea of the 2080 having 2 inlets. can help with dead spots in the tank.

if i were u i would add 1 2080. that would give u about 4x turnover and i would also leave the ac110 on it for a total of around 7-8x turnover.

that would give u options for overstocking.

dont rule out 1 fx5.. they are great filters too. i think i like mine better then the 2080.

it is a little pricey. u could go with a new fluval g6. at least it comes with media.

an fx5 is the the lowest of the 3. but it depends on the media u select for it.

i have 2 fx5's on my 300 . biomax on the bottom 2 trays and prefilter on the top. no pads. if u wanted to keep it inexpensive u could use just scrubbies in all 3 trays. never tried it myself but heard it works fine.

for the 2080's i bought the media pack for it but it was definately not cheap. i rinse them out and change fine pads every 2 months.

fx5 is definately highest flow of all of them .
