Help with new gachua set up

New to forum!
I have bought a new juwel rekord 800 aquarium. 80cm x 45cm x 35cm. roughly 33 gallons. It has an internal filter. Really keen on keeping chana gachua but need advice. How to decorate aquarium, use sand or gravel, how many plants caves etc. What temp does this species like and what do they feed on. Also are they really the escape artists I have heard if so how to stop this. Hope someone can help.

Hello Jamie, as stated before on another forum, have you applied for your liecense being your in Scotland, ?

Once you obtain this then we can help you with finding channa up there..

Channa Gachua get roughly 8 inches, and yes all species of snakeheads are escape artists, you can stop this by covering holes around the tank with mesh, also some Duck weed, and floating plants will help avoid jumping, also lots of plants in general are good for snakeheads. I wouldn't suggest obtainig more than 2 specimens.
