Hello all,
I am new to pikes, in my tank I have a male festae and grammode cichlid. I went to my LFS three days ago and they had about 30 4-6" labeled wild caught common florida pike. I bought three at 9.99 each. So far no one has even looked a pellets or cubes of beefheart that I feed my cichlids. How do I get them to eat? In my opinion they look like two line dwarf pikes and have a lateral line from nose to tail on each side and some small banning or blocks along the sides with the lateral line.

Crenicichla sveni and it should one around to eating. Give it some time.

Sveni are labeled as wild caught Florida pike ?? Thats a new one. Are they feral in some areas down there now ??

I've never heard of any feral pike populations down there before, that would be a new one.

LOL...how in the heck did the LFS confuse that with a chain pickerel?!

Could've been confused with a grass or red fin pickerel...but even that makes me

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, I've seen Hepsetus odoe sold as a 'pike cichlid' before.
