Hey guys!
I've just gotten 2 baby Raphael Catfish about and inch in size, may I know if they need aquarium salt or not?And also is there a reason why one of them keeps going to the surface splashin water(no idea if uts trying to jump out) because it has happened quite a few times. Both of them do eat,I feed them hikari pellets. Thanks!

They shouldn't need salt at all. Their natural waters contain very little to no salt. No need for salt unless your treating some sort of infection.

Raph's will not tolerate any measurable salt, and will try to jump out of the water if conditions are bad, like ammonia burning their gills. They are not sensitive to nitrate like some fish, but any ammonia is very bad news.

I put API Salt in my tank every water change with my Raphaels, Should i stop this?

I feel it helps heal cuts and wounds prevents infection

SALT IS DEFINEITELY A NO!!! Also, you probably know this but raphael cats are highly nocturnal and need hiding places to prevent longterm stress.

As others have stated no salt and a well established tank with 0 ammonia & 0 nitrite. Keep the water clean and if you ever need to treat the tank DO NOT use anythig containing Malachite green unless you ask how to do it first but avoid it if at all possible they are extreamly sensative to it.
