I was given a male severum by my friend, I placed him in a pail and it took me 10 minutes to travel from his place to mine.
I was not able to test the ph from the severums original tank.

When i got home, what i did was just add some water from my tank into the pail, then after about 15 minutes i dumped him into my 300 gallon tank. he just laid on his sides. then after a while, he just stayed at a corner without moving much. My tanks ph is 7.5 , I'm not sure , could it be ph shock?

not sure what to do, i transferred him from my 300 gallon to a 75 gallon with a ph of 8.5 , when i dropped him into the tank he just laid on his sides again :(
not sure whats wrong with this fish. I added some melafix and rock salt not sure what to do with this guy, i gace him to my friend about 4-5 years ago.

what would you guys suggest?

You are stressing it out by transferring it from tank to tank. Severums do best with a ph of 7. It probably sat at the bottom of the tank due to stress; most fish will lie at the bottom for at least a day or two when introduced to a new environment. I would also suggest that you do some research before you go out and buy any fish.

This fish was given to me, I've been keeping severums for many years.
btw what would you do if you suspect ph shock? will you leave the fish in the main tank?

I disagree. I've kept severums in pH of 8.0. What matters is keep the pH consistent.

Remove the Melafix. You won't need that. All you have to do is wait for the fish to recover slowly. Don't move it anymore. I would have advised you to quarantine your new fish for four weeks but you already moved it around tanks so I dunno how many fish may likely carry what it has. You'll have to watch out for any unusual symptoms they exhibit.

thanks, Yup i should have quarantined him, I assumed he was healthy coming from a friend. I guess i was wrong :( so far he seems ok in the 75 gallon quarantine tank, but i'll have to observe him.
