Now I'm seriously planning to setup a tank for an oscar. Saw a good deal on 120 gallon in comparison with 75 gal, which I planned to get, the thing is I don't have that big room for a stand, so I thought I would use my computer desk for that, which hasn't been used for a while and is very solid and should hold the tank, it also has great dimensions in lenght - 121cm(close to 48 inches), so it should fit almost perfectly.

BUT now the problem is that if I want to get 120, which is 150x50x60cm or 150x60x50(forgot the exact dimensions, silly me :screwy:), it would be 29cm(little over 11 inches) longer than the desk. The oscar would defenanetly enjoy extra space, I could even add few more fish, which I actually doubt I would do, my plan was 1 fish as a center piece.

Because I don't have experience with stands, my question to you guys is - could I actually put the 120 on that desk? Migh be a really silly question, but I had to ask... I just want to get the best for my fish.

Uh, sorry for the long talk :D

Nope, you'll break the bottom pane of glass.

Computer desks are not well reinforced. I wouldn't use that for a fish tank.

Remember, water weighs 8 pounds per gallon.

Ok, thanks for reply. Then I have only one option - have to get a proper stand for it... 120 here we go :) Just have to save up a little bit and free up some space...
