Help with Odd Behavior

Hey that new Lei I got is acting all strang. Kinda shooting around the tank and curling his body all up and looks stressed.

My ammonia is at 0 , nitrites are at 0, My nitrates are at pretty close to 0.

I'm not sure why he is so stressed out. I did a water change this morning and still freaking out. He's eating though. Once I drop a pellet in the water he zooms over and snatches it up.

Can anyone help me out?

I have another fresh water tank thats been established for some time now should I put like 5 gallons of that water in his tank?
 
hes real new to the tank and doesn't feel comforable. my leichardti was like this for a few weeks and still darts around all the time. lei's actually do this way more commonly then most other arowanas. which is why people recommend or HIGHLY recommend bigger tanks for leichardtis as they are hardcore spooky fish and dart around.

I was at my LFS today and they got had a silver aro. They put it in with some africans and it was freaking them out.

It almost jumped 4 times and ketp doing spazztic turns and darting all over the place.

My other LFS had three jardini together that were calmy swimming together but they have been together for a month now in the same tank..

So its probably because she's new and getting used to her surroundings.

Do you have any floating plants real/fake to add extra cover? If not I would just get a few plastic ones and put them in a clump in a corner of the tank.

I agree. some plastic plants / or real plants might make your aro feel a bit more comfy.
 
Cool. Well I added some plants.

Ethnics...that is pretty much what my Lei is doing...except a mini version.. :)

Okay.......that makes me feel way better. I was so confused cause he was tweekin out and nothing in the system seemed wrong. Thanks for the help. I'll keep a close eye on him.
