I have a pair of Oscars that were donated to the petco by my house and we adopted from there for free. One is 10" & the other is 8". These two have laid eggs twice now in my community 180 which they share with red devils and a grammode cichlid. Twice now in the past two months average one a month theyve laid eggs and weve had to pull the slate or plate the next day. I set up the slate full of eggs in a 29 I keep set up for fry from cichlids from my other tanks. Within 24-48 hrs the eggs are white and.foamy and never hatch. Am I not giving the male enough time to fertilize? Could I have two females? Pics of the pair "breeding" and the eggs set up and now.
