Hello MFK, I have another situation that only I could get into.:nilly: I just got a sump and overflow box for my 29 gallon, but when I finaly hooked everything up ( which took me forever lol) I could not fiqure out how to get the return hose to attach to the overflow box. I am possitive everything is set up right too. Someone told me to put a hose clip on there there to make it stick.( the clip you would put on your hose outside) The overflow box is an Eshopps. Thanks in advance.:)

What is the connection coming ouy of the overflow box? It should be a 1" pvc pipe. The hose should slowly slide right over tightly. You dont need a clamp

I am not sure what the connection is called but it is not a pvc pipe. I can pick a pvc pipe up today, would that solve my problem? thanks

What is it a bulkhead threaded on outside? If so, the inside of it should be smooth so you can glue a piece of pvc into it. Round off the edge a bit to make it easier to slide on hose

Need pics or we're guessing blindly.
